Before requesting proposals

List the problems to solve, photograph the existing bathroom, take basic measurements, identify must-haves, decide what can stay and collect examples of the overall look you prefer.

Before signing

Compare scope, exclusions, allowances, payment schedule, permit responsibility, subcontractors, change-order process, cleanup and project communication.

Before construction

Confirm selections, delivery timing, access, household logistics, protection of adjacent areas and where project records will be kept.

At completion

Keep permits, approvals, warranties, product information, final invoices and photos of concealed work when available.
